News from the Trustees of Douai Park Recreation Association [ DPRA ]

Some of you will have read that Birch Associates (BAE) will cease operating from the Pavilion at Douai Park from the end of June.

The Trustees of the DPRA would like to thank Sue and Katie Birch (BAE) for the time and energy they have put into organising events at the Pavilion over the past five years. We are grateful for their efforts and wish them every success in the future.

In line with the DPRA constitution and aims and objectives of the lead funders, the DPRA will continue to promote sport in the first instance, whilst also being mindful of the needs of the non sporting community.

This approach has underpinned the sustainability of the DPRA and will continue to do so, with more funds being generated for the clubs and the DPRA which will enable further developments of the facilities in the future.

The Pavilion will still be available for hire for non-sporting events. There have been approaches from several interested parties who aim to enhance the community events already established on the calendar e.g. The Film Club, Summer Evening Bars and Quiz Nights.

As soon as all options have been explored in full, we will be in touch with further announcements.
